Project Update
We have come a long way in
development. Currently we are importing actual game content into our
client! We have a private test client that uses animation that will be
released to the public as soon as we finish work on our resource files.
Keep in mind we will be releasing the client and the source, but the source
will be strictly engine scripts and the actual game content will not be
released with it. Though you will be able to see it when using the compiled
client!
We are also reviewing recent applicants and are also
looking to add a few more members to the development team. We here at www.darksunworld.com
are extremely excited with recent work as we continue our efforts to finish
the project. At this stage, I myself am even reviewing the original DSO
layout and detail, we are even looking at the transportation system that
the original game used and are trying to restore as much of the original
content (even the quests!!!) as possible while expanding upon the game to
include ALL available content from the novels, apex's, renditions, and rule
sets ever released for this campaign setting as well as including the
standard AD&D supplements such as the skills and powers books.
We would like to set up a meeting with community
members as well as the original players of DSO for input and questions. A
list of topics is being assembled by me to be addressed during such a
meeting and will also be posted on the forums for others to leave feedback!
It truly is an exciting time for the development team!
Also it should be noted that a FAQ
has been assembled and is available on the forums! Please review it for all
Darksun Online questions!
